πThe Thorn of Crown
... symbol of Love π
A circle of thorn, a weapon of scorn,
Pressed on the brow of the King.
A symbol of hate, of a world's heavy weight,
The pain that submission would bring.
But deep in the weave, if you quietly believe,
A truer design comes to sight.
For each thorn that bit deep, a promise to keep
Love will not surrender to night.
That crown of sharp pain, in sun and in rain,
Is now a crown of love's story written profound.
It's the patient embrace, upon a friend's face,
It's kindness that reflects His glory.
It's the thorns we bear now, for love to endow,
The choice to forgive and to mend.
It's the quiet, strong will, to love longer still,
On a thorny crown, love depends.
So remember the crown, not with a sad frown,
But as love's most radical sign.
For the greatest MAN (Jesus) known,
Wore a crown of thorns and made it divine.
